Fall 2023 Nuestra voz en español /Spanish Conversation Hour

Do you want to connect with other Latine students at Cornell and feel a part of the community through our shared language? Are you willing to help others strengthen their speaking skills and confidence?

“Nuestra voz en español” a collaborative initiative between the Latina/o Studies Program, Latine Student Success Office, the Department of Romance Studies, and the Language Resource Center will continue to bring students together to speak Spanish with other heritage speakers in an informal setting. Mary Kay Redmond, senior lecturer of Spanish and the  Latine Student Success Office  came together last semester with the idea of Nuestra voz en español.

This initiative, moderated by Olivia Ochoa ’24, Latina/o Studies student intern and Spanish major, will continue this Fall 2023 and will take place on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30, 429 Rockefeller Hall (4th Floor Rockefeller Hall conference room).

There are no assignments, no grades, no exams...just engaging with peers at your speaking level. Topics will be chosen by the participants.

All are welcome, no matter what your background is in Spanish.
