The Latino/a Studies Program is a proud collaborator of the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, including the 11th annual Cine con Cultura Latinx Film Festival featuring 10 films alongside a month full of community events from art exhibits to drag shows!
In addition to the film screenings running from September 14th to October 12th, there are a series of engaging events throughout September, October, and November. Now more than ever, building community is essential, and the Latino Civic Association and its partners are dedicated to providing opportunities for social, cultural, educational, and civic connection for the Latino community and beyond. This year, all films and most community events are free and open to the public. Find the links for screening and event schedules below.

“Hispanic Heritage Month is a vital time to come together, celebrate our culture, and strengthen community bonds,” says Yen Ospina. “We’re thrilled to offer a variety of events that highlight the incredible talent and creativity within our local Latino community.”
The LCA is an all-volunteer organization committed to serving the Latino community of Tompkins County by offering a platform for cultural expression and community engagement. This year’s lineup includes story times, art exhibitions, drag performances, puppet shows, and community festivals, each designed to celebrate heritage, creativity, and connection.
This month long celebration is made possible with continued partnerships of local organizations and institutions. Community events were made possible in partnership with The Kitchen Theatre, Community School of Music & Art, GIAC, Park Foundation and with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the office of the Governor and NYS Legislature, administered by the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.
