Meet the Latino Living Center’s Interim RHD, Ivette Olave
Earlier this semester, the Latino Living Center welcomed Ivette Olave as the new interim RHD for Spring 2020. Ivette is also the current RHD for JAM (Just About Music) Program House. Originally from Arequipa, Peru, Ivette obtained her Bachelors of Science from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Psychology with two concentrations in Psychology of Addictions and Clinical Psychology. Her passion for higher education precedes her current career at Cornell, as she previously worked full-time for the Indiana Latino Institute, a non-profit organization seeking to improve accessibility to post-secondary education for Latinx students in Indiana. Additionally, she was the graduate supervisor for Residential Programs & Services in McNutt Residence Center at Indiana University. She received her MS.Ed in Higher Education and Student Affairs in May 2019 and has been at Cornell since.
Although the semester just started, Ivette has been actively involved in the Latinx community by reaching out to students and by planning and attending LLC events, such as Cafés and Faculty Fellows dinners. She can be reached at iolave@cornell.edu. The Latina/o Studies Program and the Latinx Student Success Office are excited to collaborate with her!
