Each year, during Latinx Heritage Month, Cultura Ithaca! and the Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County organize the Cine con Cultura Latinx American Film Festival in Ithaca, New York. This year marks the ninth year celebrating the work of Latin American/Latino filmmakers from around the continent, providing a glimpse into Latin America and the US.
Festival screenings will take place September 7th, 2023 through October 20th, 2023. This year's festival brings 11 films to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month with a selection of feature-length films and documentaries. Several films will be free and open to the public. Others might have a small fee at Cinemapolis and Cornell Cinema.
The festival is made possible by a collaboration between Cinemapolis, LGBTQ Center, Latin American and Caribbean Studies program, Latina/o Studies Program, Romance Studies, LASC and Cornell Cinema at Cornell University; and Tompkins County Public library and Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) at Ithaca College.
