Guided by the profile, survey data as well as input from students, alumni, staff and faculty, LSSO identifies gaps in services and support for students and takes steps to address them directly, or works with relevant University offices to better meet student needs. Recent examples of this support include:
- Presented on student experience and needs to counseling and psychological services (CAPS) staff.
- Collaborated with the student support units and various student organization's to improve academic, pre-professional, health, and financial aid services for students.
- Support development of growth mindset and social belonging strategies on campus.
- Outreach at New Student Orientation, as well as events in Arts & Sciences such as Cornell Days, Commencement, and recognition events.
- Co-sponsor programming with Arts & Sciences Career Services on internships, Cornell Abroad, Career Conversations.
- Accompanied undergraduates to national and regional conferences.
- Participate regularly by attending student service and campus community meetings.
- Outreach to Resident Assistants during R.A. training.
The LSP Student Success Office exists to help all Cornell students find their voice, their niche(s), and yes, even their classroom here at Cornell. No question is too big or too small.
