Professor Debra Castillo, Stephen H. Weiss presidential fellow and Emerson Hinchliff professor of Hispanic Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences, died Oct. 5 at the age of 72.

He serves as the Strategic Business Partner and Chief Strategist for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. Freddy joined the Mayo Clinic as an Administrative Fellow in July 2019. Freddy holds a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Marquette University. Cine con Cultura launches its film festival celebrating Latinx Heritage month. The festival brings 14 films in Spanish, English, and Portuguese to Ithaca. Film screenings will be held at Cornell Cinema, Cinemapolis, and Ithaca College. Some films are free and all are open to the public.
